A Love Note To Mom Jeans
An iconic piece of clothing that everyone should own. The Mom Jean. Yea, trust me you need them. They are my favorite style of jeans and I feel like they get sort of a bad reputation, mainly due to the hilariously clever SNL skit called Mom Jeans. Seriously, if you haven’t seen it, go watch it.
They fit your waist and they’re loose fitting throughout the legs. Sydney, are you saying that they’re comfy and cute?? Yes, I am.
My jean brand of choice (for those of you who don’t know me) is American Eagle, obviously. They are the absolute BEST. I will live and die by AE jeans, they’re the holy grail of denim if you will, and I stand by that incredibly bold statement. I can do an entire post just about jeans, finding the right fit and other brands that I sometimes entertain, but that’s for another day.
Both pairs of jeans pictured above are from AE, duh. The lighter pair are more of a true denim, structured, with little stretch while the darker pair are the softest, stretchiest, pair of jeans I own and will probably ever own. Both are the bomb.com and also both are currently on sale.
Mom Jeans are easy to dress up or keep casual. Adding some classic white sneakers, or as I call them, my ‘show sneakers’ can go a long way. So can a tighter fitting top and some heels! Any way you wanna dress it up or down, it’s gonna be a look!
So please, I encourage you to channel your inner fashionista (or Tina Fey), step outta your skinny jean comfort zone, and rock some haute mamma jeans!
